Two years ago, I was not fitting into my suits. I was struggling to find the energy to play with my boisterous six-year-old son as long as he wanted. I crashed out every night exhausted from the whirl of meetings, commitments and juggling acts I was performing. And, I could feel an old back injury niggling me again. Then, I started working with Jordan, the book’s author, and he helped turn everything around. I’m lighter, lither, more grounded physically.
I’m delighted Jordan has now written a book so everyone can benefit from his insights and approaches to living. I’d call this book a MUST READ for any 40 – 60-year-old man who’s put physical and mental health on the back burner, and prioritised career, business, work, money, family and the general stresses of modern city life. There are millions of us, and precious few guides on how to live in a world which conspires to offer us so much yet takes away our vitality in doing so.
Jordan covers all areas of living, from our environments to stay mobile, and remaining mentally grounded. There’s nothing in here that’s impossible or a huge commitment. He advocates small changes, building good habits one or two at a time. This is a small investment of time and money that will yield huge dividends if you follow just 1 – 2 pieces of Jordan’s advice.

At the age of 40, after a couple of years of dabbling with improving my health while simultaneously working myself into the ground, I began training with Jordan. I quickly learned that I was over-stressed, under-nourished and my weekly 100km bike rides were probably the last thing I should be doing in my current state of health.
Over the next year, Jordan shared with me much of what’s in this book while in parallel I went on a mission of self-learning to try to be a better me. In this time, I’ve read a lot of great books on the subject and listened to countless podcasts, but in Man Alive, Jordan manages to pull the best bits together in a way that is both inspiring and actionable. I can attest to what Jordan has written because i’ve seen and felt the changes in myself and my blood-work confirms it.
I’d recommend this book to anyone – whether you’re struggling with or trying to optimise your health, there will be something in here that can change your life if you let it.

I absolutely loved this book! In a world with so much information, so many books on improving yourself, most are just semi read and then not put into practice (guilty). I think when we are trying to make positive changes in our lives this sheer volume of information and differing opinions can be paralysing.
Jordan has made this so simple, so straightforward that you can implement these strategies into your lifestyle one day at a time and see big changes. Since reading this, I have committed to more ice baths, a daily breathing practice and consistent journaling… so simple but so powerful!
Thank you for sharing this with the world in such a simple, easy to understand manner!

This book is unique. Jordan has taken 4 different areas and shown how they all come together to create a complete human being. If you feel like you are ‘doing everything right’ but still not feeling healthy. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Love this book – It’s so practical and straight to the point. I particularly like the mindset section, I’ve done some of the techniques Jordan recommends and he is right, it is damn impactful.

I had the pleasure of working with Jordan over a weekend away for the first time recently. Jordan’s views and advice which are all covered in this book were a breath of fresh air. We need to remember who and what we are as humans. I highly recommend reading for anyone male or female looking to live a healthy, stress-free and full filled life!

This book should be something every man reads as soon as he is able to read. It sets the physical and mental health foundations everyone should try and aim for, for a happy, healthy life. Ladies buy your partner, son, nephew, grandson in your life this book as a gift, read it yourself first, as you will get as much from it as he will.

I have been a long time meditator and have always appreciated the power of taking care of the mind. However, I have struggled to maintain good physical health in recent years. In a world in which there is just so much information that it feels impossible to begin, this book provides a clear and concise guide to health for the modern person. The writing is humorous and engrossing; the author is a born storyteller. The structure is superb and really helps the reader absorb the key messages. The brief summary sections at the end of each section are a fantastic touch and make it easy to put the suggestions into practice. It is a few days since I finished reading the book and it has already had a substantial impact on my life. This book could really help people become a lot healthier and happier.

Jordan is an inspiring young man. On first meeting him at a strategy workshop for entrepreneurs I was hosting, he struck me as a person with such a strong vision of his goals and a solid presence of someone with a depth of character unusual for one so young. After working with him in the KPI course, I was exposed to his vast knowledge of health and wellbeing, and his refreshing approach to life. Once you hear his story, you will know why. This book is a magnificent capture of his story, how it changed his life and approach to health. One which upon reading, I’m sure, will change yours. Get a copy for yourself or give one to someone who you love because it just might change the course of their life for the better.

I stumbled upon this book when I hit a wall and could barely look at myself in the mirror. I’d put on so much weight, was disconnected from my family and friends, and worst of all I’d stopped doing the things I loved because my career had absorbed every inch of me. I don’t know much about philosophy, and I hadn’t given much thought to the meaning of life, but I’m sure I was far from living in accordance with my true self – both physically and spiritually. I’ve read a lot of books before this one but none spoke to me quite like this. Travers has really dialled in on every aspect, I mean EVERY aspect, of health and distilled a very qualitative message. I’m blown away by how much he has condensed into these pages and how much he knows about the yearnings of the male psyche.
